Cogent Deploys PoP in HostDime’s Guadalajara Mexico Data Center

GUADALAJARA, Mexico, May 28, 2021 — HostDime, a pioneer in global edge data center infrastructure, has announced that Cogent Communications, one of the top five backbone networks in the world, has deployed a Point of Presence (PoP) in HostDime’s Tier III data center in Guadalajara, Mexico. Cogent’s large global network footprint brings enhanced global connectivity options to HostDime’s Mexico clients and expands Cogent’s on-net network presence in Mexico.

Cogent is a multinational, Tier-1 facilities-based ISP that has built one of the largest and highest capacity IP networks in existence, with 210+ markets in 48 countries around the world.

The addition of Cogent bolsters HostDime’s lineup of multiple diverse connections from leading bandwidth providers, carriers, and exchanges that run into their Mexico data center facility. The carriers in the demarc meet-me/PoP room can link straight to the equipment racks from the source, avoiding all other network switches; this provides added redundancy, lower latency in Mexico, and the flexibility to switch carriers within the facility. Cogent has an extensive peering and inter-connectivity with all local major Mexico telecom providers to achieve this high-performance routing within Mexico to reach 90% of all end-users and enterprises at lightning speeds.

Guadalajara, the second-largest metropolitan area in Mexico, is leading the charge of interconnectivity throughout the country. HostDime’s edge data center in Guadalajara was constructed with the purpose of delivering reliable and scalable data center infrastructure services to Mexico at the lowest possible latency.

"We’re proud and honored to welcome Cogent on-net into our Guadalajara, Mexico data center. Cogent’s superior global network architecture and high interconnectivity in Mexico allows us to offer our clients exceptional connectivity at an unbeatable price. We look forward to continuing to expand this strategic partnership with Cogent across our entire fleet of global data centers," says Manny Vivar, HostDime’s Chief Executive Officer & President of Global Operations.

"We are pleased to be able to provide Internet services to HostDime’s customers in Guadalajara," said Vincent Teissier, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Cogent Communications. "Reliable and scalable Internet connectivity will help ensure these companies can reach their customers across Mexico and the world."

This isn’t the first time Cogent and HostDime have linked up. HostDime also provisioned a Cogent PoP in their current Orlando data center, and will deploy a similar set-up in their upcoming 100,000 square foot Orlando, Florida flagship data center coming in summer 2022.

HostDime has carrier-neutral data centers strategically placed around the world to be able to service the demands of localized data around the world. Enterprises looking for colocation in global locations can buy just space and power they need from the data center, while purchasing the bandwidth directly from their provider of choice. As the digital transformation around the world continues to evolve and adopt globally, the need for networks and enterprises to interconnect will be more in demand. HostDime is positioned to service those needs through its suite of products and services.

Clarivate Announces 2020 Revenue Cycle Awards Recipients

Winners of the annual award include ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and Essentia Health

LONDON, May 7, 2021 — Clarivate Plc (NYSE: CLVT), a global leader in providing trusted information and insights to accelerate the pace of innovation, today announced the 2020 winners of the annual Revenue Cycle Awards, issued by Healthcare Business Insights to US based companies since 2012. The Revenue Cycle Awards recognize healthcare organizations for achieving outstanding performance on revenue cycle KPIs, based on data from their most recent and preceding full fiscal years. The 2020 Revenue Cycle Awards recipients are: ThedaCare – WI, University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics – IA and Essentia Health – MN.

The Revenue Cycle Awards were established in 2012 to recognize hospitals and health systems demonstrating strong performance on revenue cycle KPIs that indicate the fiscal health of an organization. While this year’s recipients faced challenges common to the entire healthcare community, at the onset of the pandemic, each participant adjusted operations to support staff and increased communication with patients to prevent the spread of COVID-19. For example, many expanded remote work for revenue cycle staff and developed workflows to meet increased demand for telehealth services. While adapting to these unforeseen challenges, leaders at these organizations were preparing for CMS price transparency regulations, which took effect in 2021, and managing ongoing improvement initiatives intended to further increase efficiency and accuracy in revenue cycle operations.

Winners were selected based on multiple KPIs, and the studied metrics were adjusted for the COVID-19 pandemic. In past years, metrics have been heavily focused on financial outcomes. For the 2020 Awards, that focus was lessened, and new metrics were included to assess the effectiveness of revenue cycle operations, such as the percentages of initial denials attributed to varying root cause categories, which provides insight into the efficiency and accuracy of staff workflows. Evaluation also included narratives provided by awards entrants describing recent revenue cycle initiatives, COVID-19 pandemic response, and more.

Beth Reed, Principal Analyst at Clarivate for Healthcare Business Insights solutions, said: "Innovation is at the heart of every successful growth strategy. Now, more than ever, hospitals and health systems must be flexible, able to adjust operations when needed to ensure the best care can be provided. It was important to acknowledge the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in this year’s awards process. Each participant demonstrated their commitment to the health and safety of their staff and patients during a time of upheaval."

While all award recipients have high-performing revenue cycles in common, they represent varied segments of the healthcare landscape as defined by annual net revenue.

2020 Revenue Cycle Awards Winners:

$251 MILLION TO $1 BILLION NET REVENUE – ThedaCare

Based in Neenah, Wisconsin, ThedaCare includes seven hospitals and more than 30 clinics. The system includes five critical access hospitals and two general acute-care hospitals. ThedaCare features 460 beds and has generated approximately $734 million annual net revenue. The system operates under a partnership with Ensemble Health Partners, which provides full revenue cycle outsourcing.

Key achievements:

  • Top decile performance on first-pass appeal success rate in most recent fiscal year: 89.08%
  • Top decile year-over-year improvement on cost to collect: 29.40% decrease
  • Improved business office staff accuracy and efficiency, as well as payer relations, by integrating robotic process automation and AI into claim status workflows and account follow-up prioritization

$1 BILLION TO $2 BILLION NET REVENUE — University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics

Based in Iowa City, Iowa, University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics is an academic health system featuring an 860-bed hospital and more than 200 clinics. The system has generated approximately $1.9 billion net revenue.

Key achievements:

  • Top decile performance on percentage of dollars initially denied by payers due to insufficient clinical documentation in most recent fiscal year: 1.32%
  • Top decile performance on percentage of patients pre-registered before scheduled service in most recent fiscal year: 83.18%
  • Demonstrated leadership and community commitment by mitigating a local natural disaster’s effects on patient access to care during summer 2020, such as by identifying revenue cycle team members who could not work remotely due to power outages and developing safety protocols to prevent COVID-19 infection while they were brought back onsite temporarily

$2 BILLION+ NET REVENUE — Essentia Health

Based in Duluth, Minnesota, Essentia Health includes 14 hospitals, more than 70 clinics, several postacute and nonacute living facilities, and more, across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota. The system features 1,150 beds and has generated approximately $2.0 billion net revenue.

Key achievements:

  • Top decile performance on percentage of patient payments made online in most recent fiscal year: 91.15%
  • Top decile year-over-year improvement on percentage of patients pre-registered before scheduled service: 90.67% improvement
  • Modified patient-facing revenue cycle processes to provide a positive in-person experience (such as through curbside registration) and virtual experience (such as through remote patient monitoring) during the pandemic

SenSen: North American Operations and Expansion Update

HIGHLIGHTS

  • SenSen’s Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) from North America to exceed A$1.5M per annum driven by new orders from Chicago Parking Meters and contract renewals from existing customers in the region.
  • Increases SenSen’s current overall ARR guidance to ~A$4.5m for FY2022 and beyond, based on current confirmed orders and contracts.
  • Completed hiring of key marketing and sales executives to accelerate growth in the region; and additional staff hired to increase key account management and customer support in the region.
  • Opened North American headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada, fitted with a range of SenSen solutions for demonstrations and customer sales
  • Established multiple channel partner engagements to increase sales momentum in the region.
  • SenSen to participate and present at multiple vertical-focused industry trade shows and conferences in the region in the next six months to support marketing efforts and promote SenSen solutions in the region.

MELBOURNE, SYDNEY and LAS VEGAS, April 21, 2021 — Leading Smart Cities and AI software solutions provider SenSen Networks Limited (ASX: SNS, OTCQB: SNNSF, "SenSen" or "the Company") is pleased to provide an update on its expanding US Operations.

Revenue and Sales

On the back of new orders and contract extensions, SenSen’s ARR from North America has crossed A$1.5M, which consists of:

  • Revenue from new orders from Chicago Parking Meters;
  • Contract renewals and extensions from the cities of Calgary and Edmonton (Canada);
  • Contract renewals from customers of the recently acquired Snap Network Surveillance’s multi-camera people tracking software; and
  • Locked in contract with the City of Las Vegas (Nevada) for parking management & enforcement.

This represents strong growth in overall revenue and particularly ARR from North America, which currently accounts for over one third of SenSen’s contracted ARR (~A$4.5m) in FY2022. ARR growth is expected to continue, with new channel partner arrangements being established and targeted sales and marketing activities underway.

SenSen’s revenue base in North America now completely funds operations in the US and Canada, providing a strong platform for organic growth as the US economy re-emerges from the impacts of COVID-19 shutdown. SenSen’s stable of flagship North American customers demonstrates a stable, high-reference client base to further accelerate growth in sales in the region.

Chicago Parking Meters

In the American Midwest, SenSen is working with Chicago Parking Meters (www.parkchicago.com) to provide parking and traffic analytics in the City of Chicago (Illinois), the third-largest US city. After SenSen successfully completed the POC trial, Chicago Parking Meters has ordered multiple systems from SenSen to improve the efficiency of its on-street parking management operations, which are currently being prepared for deployment in Q4 2021. Additional systems are planned for procurement in the coming months. These systems are expected to deliver both upfront and recurring revenues to SenSen.

Snap Network Surveillance

SenSen received its first set of orders from Snap Network Surveillance (Snap) customers since the acquisition in December 2020. Snap’s AI-powered multi-camera networked tracking technology is currently being implemented for customers through various resellers – A3 Communications (South Carolina), A+ Technology (New York City) and Southeast Security (Ohio). SenSen will receive annual software maintenance fees from these customers.

These new orders are a positive endorsement of the value Snap technology brings to its customers. SenSen has developed a targeted market education and outreach plan to promote Snap’s multi-camera person tracking and other solutions to this loyal base of partners and end customers, including airports, high-security prisons, shopping centres, universities, casinos, and law enforcement organisations.

City of Las Vegas

SenSen worked extensively with the City of Las Vegas to install Smart City technology on roads, car parks and garages across the city as well as outfitting a range of council vehicles with smart sensors, including scooters and Segways. As part of the progressive roll-out of SenSen systems under the contract with the City, multiple SenSen systems to improve the efficiency of on-street and off-street parking management have gone into production within the City of Las Vegas.

Additional systems are expected to go into production in the coming weeks. As announced previously, these systems generate both upfront and ongoing revenues.

SenSen has become a significant technology partner of the City of Las Vegas. SenSen was recently invited to participate in a paid smart curbside corridor pilot program with the City of Las Vegas in collaboration with Cox Communications (www.cox.com) to explore new avenues to leverage SenSen technology.

The pilot’s objective is to use technology solutions to monitor congestion in high-traffic areas of downtown Las Vegas for the next six months with the aim of optimising efficiency for all types of transport, especially rideshares and taxis. The innovative public-private partnership trial covers six parking spots along the sidewalk adjacent to the 100 block of Main Street with two digital kiosks that utilise SenSen’s video analytics and smart parking technology to better manage active curb loading zones for taxis and rideshares, making conditions safer for visitors and pedestrians.

Video analytics from the devices along the curb will capture vehicle and license plate information and send utilisation data to the kiosks to kick off a countdown timer. If a vehicle remains in the loading zone after the countdown ends, the system reports the incident directly to the city, ensuring a constant flow of traffic.

US office now open

Under a special grants program, the City of Las Vegas invited SenSen to open its new US office at the Las Vegas International Innovation Center, a premium, high-profile location in Downtown Las Vegas. The location is offered to companies, at subsidised rates, that are considered to be future disruptors in the technology space that align with City of Las Vegas priorities – including companies operating in IoT (Internet of Things), artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, cybersecurity, water science and advanced mobile data.

In late March, SenSen opened its new office, which features a showroom / demonstration area for marketing to potential Smart Cities and gaming customers. SenSen will benefit from a Las Vegas address as the world’s leading convention city and a convener of business on a global scale. The city’s supportive policy environment and growing focus on innovation make it an ideal location to test and develop SenSen’s new technologies.

New Staff Hires in the region

Following SenSen’s successful $7.15M international expansion capital raise in January 2021, SenSen has completed the recruitment of a number of senior executives to accelerate sales and marketing in North America, including:

  • Senior sales executive focused on the casino market;
  • Senior sales executive focused on the security & surveillance market;
  • Account manager to support and manage high-value direct customers; and
  • Pre-sales and post-sales technical support staff.

SenSen’s North American team now constitutes six staff with four more to join the team before the end of June 2021, including an additional senior sales executive focused on the Smart Cities market and customer support.

"I am delighted to hit the ground running by hiring new staff and setting up our new US Headquarters to help execute our expansion plans in North America," said SenSen CEO Dr Subhash Challa.

"While our Smart Cities deals in Chicago and Las Vegas are built around our core strength in Intelligent Transport Solutions, we have multiple pipeline opportunities across all our verticals to pursue.

"In a post-pandemic world, we see significant potential to expand revenues in the US and other geographies. These newly announced contracts will significantly add to our previously announced revenues for FY2021, but even more importantly, will add to our growing ARR profile from FY2022."

This release is approved by the Board of SenSen.

Applications of Location-Based & Geospatial Intelligence Data

NEW YORK, April 1, 2021 — Enterprises, government agencies, and law enforcement use Cobwebs Technologies‘ geospatial data and spatial analysis to get location intelligence, which is a powerful tool to understand situations or events, get insight into, e.g., where events take place and who is involved to make informed decisions. Companies use location intelligence to, e.g., pinpoint optimal locations for their brick-and-mortar stores, government agencies use it in time of, e.g., natural disasters such as wildfires, and law enforcement uses it to identify the locations of threat actors, crime syndicates, criminal acts, and mass events turning into riots. In other words, location-based data provides unique insights, reveals hidden relationships, patterns, and trends that are crucial for follow-up.

In general, harnessing geospatial data requires a geospatial intelligence platform. Collecting enormous amounts of location-based data on the surface, deep, and dark web is extremely labor-intensive. Due to limited budgets and time restraints, a user-friendly WEBINT platform is needed that scrapes from all layers of the web, analyzes the collected data, and presents the actionable results in a user-friendly GUI. The cutting-edge location solution of Cobwebs Technologies automatically reveals and analyzes location-based data using interactive maps. It only collects open-source data to comply with the stringent statutory rules and regulations regarding data protection. This allows analysts and investigators to efficiently generate intelligent insights from the huge amounts of hidden and complex OSINT data. Connecting open-source web data with live and real-world information is a valuable addition to analyses and investigations.

A geospatial intelligence platform, such as the WebLoc from Cobwebs Technologies, provides real-world insights into locations and data that are of interest to analysts and investigators. The unique capabilities of such a platform enable location-based information to get location intelligence and investigative reports. The platform is designed to meticulously race through and scan endless digital channels from the web ecosystem, collecting and analyzing huge amounts of location-based data in any specified geographic location. This information is then displayed on a simple and map-centric interface which allows users to conduct a map-based and visual investigation.

The interactive map allows for filtering and analyzing data for gaining vital intelligence. This way, location-based structures and unstructured data from a large range of sources reveal various threats, including off-the-grid threat actors. Analysts and investigators can also use the collected and analyzed data for geofencing in order to discover relations between seemingly non-related data points. The platform also allows users to get historical data and use analytic tools for getting actionable insights. By collecting and analyzing real-time location intelligence using non-intrusive methods, threats can be identified for quick action. Furthermore, hidden connections are revealed, combining location-based data and open-source information and presenting it in an interactive multi-layered map for government agencies and law enforcement to take quick action.

With location-based intelligence using a WEBINT platform informed decisions can be made without setting foot on the ground, based on the generated dynamic reports. These automated real-time reports are the result of various location-based filtering inputs.

To summarize, location-based and geospatial intelligence data are crucial for analyses and investigations to make informed decisions. Only a geospatial intelligence platform can provide analysts and investigators with the location-based intelligence they need.
