The STRONGER TOGETHER auction has also put the spotlight on LG SIGNATURE’s sponsorship of the 2021 Amundi Evian Championship women’s golf tournament. This year’s tournament teed off on July 22 with a field of 126 players, making a welcome return after a one-year hiatus due to the worldwide pandemic.

Supporting the auction by donating their time and prized possessions were two of the world’s top female golfers – and LG SIGNATURE brand ambassadors – Ko Jin-young and Park Sung-hyun. During its 10-day run, STRONGER TOGETHER received considerable interest from all over the globe, bringing in an impressive tally of USD 114,825.

Among the items up for auction was the one-and-only LG SIGNATURE OLED R rollable TV, as well as the LG SIGNATURE Refrigerator, LG SIGNATURE Wine Cellar and a one-night stay at the luxurious Hotel Royal at the Evian Resort – the glamorous setting for the Amundi Evian Championship.

Additionally, the auction gave participants the opportunity to interact virtually with Ko and Park, and bid on tournament-used equipment and apparel kindly donated by the two illustrious players. The exclusive items included Ko’s Epic Flash driver used during the 2020 LPGA tour, and the TaylorMade P750 8 iron used by Park in the TaylorMade promotional video she filmed with Tiger Woods.

BARCELONA, Spain, July 6, 2021 — The GSMA is celebrating the safe and successful return of MWC Barcelona, the world’s largest mobile ecosystem event. It is humbling that in the most challenging circumstances, people came together for MWC21. Convening this year was possible because of a commitment to innovation and the direct support of the mobile ecosystem, customers, partners, and the community – and the GSMA are very grateful. Without question, this support underlines that mobile technology must continue to play a vital role in the global recovery and that the event created momentum for MWC22.

MWC21 was different from past editions. The first physical-virtual event of its kind saw executives, exhibitors and, sponsors taking in keynotes, networking, visiting exhibits and, deal-making over four days.

"I am proud of the team for delivering a high-quality event in an extraordinarily complex environment. The pandemic has indelibly changed how we gather. We had to develop new health and safety protocols and a hybrid platform but, we did it! The health and safety plan, Committed Community, was critical in bringing people together safely and, its elements were seen and felt everywhere. Approved by the Catalan Health Authorities, the plan was developed for the event and delivered in partnership with Quironprovencion. They administered thousands of tests and expertly cared for all involved. Attendees have been complimentary of the plan, and the GSMA is grateful for the cooperation of all who attended. We all played a role in creating a safe environment allowing us to be together for the first time in 15 months.

Special event highlights

Focus on the local entrepreneurial startup community was front and centre with the 4YFN (Four Years from Now) programme in the heart of MWC21. There was a genuine buzz, and 4YFN was a must-see space at the event. Returning MWC attendees were delighted to see and experience how Barcelona nurtures and encourages the startup ecosystem. 

The GSMA Ministerial Programme was the centre of policy debate. More than 650 senior policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, and government officials collaborated and exchanged views on digital inclusion, network resilience and maximising the potential of 5G. Against the backdrop of the pandemic, it has been more critical to convene the world’s political, regulatory and telecom leaders to discuss how digital connectivity is acting in the service of people whilst driving a robust recovery for the digital future.

EcoFlow to Launch Industry-First Portable Home Battery on Kickstarter this July

The DELTA Pro ecosystem can meet up to one week’s of an average family’s emergency power needs

IRWINDALE, Calif., June 30, 2021EcoFlow, a portable power and renewable energy solutions company, announced today it will unveil the EcoFlow DELTA Pro portable home battery on Kickstarter on July 15. The DELTA Pro will be the largest capacity battery EcoFlow has launched to-date, with a base capacity of 3.6kWh that can be expanded to 25kWh – enough to meet an average family’s energy need for almost one week of emergency use. It will be the industry’s first portable home battery to harness multiple power sources – the grid, solar, wind and gas.
