The XGT15000-600S is a super large tower crane designed and customized to accommodate mega-scale bridge construction projects. The first unit, which officially rolled off the assembly line in June, was deployed to the Chao-Ma railway bridge project of the Ma’anshan Yangtze River Bridge (including railway and highway). The second unit, now being delivered to the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge, will complete a series of steel tower hoisting and installation tasks, including lifting maximum weight of 300 tons to the height of over 300 meters.

As a major breakthrough of bridge construction equipment development and key milestone for the tower crane industry sector, the XGT15000-600S not only demonstrated XCMG’s industry-leading strength of intelligent manufacturing and brand influence, but also set a new benchmark of industry cooperation for super engineering projects.

The second is higher reliability. Reducing the number of individual components in a lidar improves mass production reliability. 128 laser channels also provide higher safety redundancy. Even if one laser channel fails, the rest will continue to operate to ensure normal function of the lidar.

The third is higher production consistency. By enhancing components integration, it minimizes manual assembly to avoid human errors, which significantly increases production efficiency and consistency.

Highly automated production line with 60-second cycle time

In addition to the proprietary technology, another strategic adavantage for Hesai is its in-house manufacturing. Hesai believes that rapid iteration and quality control are crucial for automotive lidar. Self-built factory enables a higher degree of control during each manufacturing step, allowing timely optimizations to ensure large-scale, high-quality mass production and delivery.

Hesai’s factory adopts the most advanced manufacturing technology and intelligent cloud service. It deploys a large number of intelligent industrial robots to automate over 100 production processes, achieving a 90% automation rate of the entire production line. It also has a 60-second cycle time, which means that on average, a qualified lidar unit rolls off the production line every 60 seconds.

To achieve strong mass-production and delivery capability that satisfies global OEMs’ requirements, Hesai also invested nearly 200 million US dollars in its “Maxwell” intelligent factory. It has a planned annual production capacity of over one million units. The factory is expected to enter operation by 2023.

Veoneer partners with Arbe to Expand the Boundaries of High-Performance Perception-Level Automotive Radars

STOCKHOLM, Oct. 7, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The automotive technology company Veoneer and the 4D imaging radar solutions company Arbe Robotics Ltd (Nasdaq: ARBE) have announced plans to co-develop radars for automotive-grade safety and rolling out autonomous functionality.

After 5 years extensive research among technology start-ups, Veoneer has chosen to partner with Arbe for their 2K high resolution industry-leading surround radar, able to enhance the perception system and sensor fusion.

Veoneer will develop, market, and integrate two surround 4D imaging radars extending on Arbe’s reference designs: one long-range, high resolution, 360° sensing solution with 48×48 RF channels (Tx/Rx) and one with 24×12 RF channels. Veoneer’s patented waveguide technology will enhance Arbe’s performance metrics further by improving antenna efficiency and reducing performance variability in the manufacturing process.

The 4D ultra high-resolution imaging radar operates also in difficult weather and lighting conditions and it differentiates true threats from false alarms to ensure a safe road ahead for drivers, pedestrians, and other vulnerable road users. The radar sensor is modular in design, reliable and affordable, providing both redundancy and the data diversity that is critical for both automotive-grade safety and rolling out autonomous functionality.

The new surround radar is expected to be in pre-production by mid-2023.
