Spotify for Windows Phone is about to get a major update to overhaul its appearance and functionality.
Ever since the apps availability to Windows Phone 8 devices last year, Spotify for Windows has not quite reached the heights of its iOS and Android counterparts. This is mainly due to its lack of functionality when compared to the iOS and Android variants. The new client version, available today in the Windows Phone Store, brings about a redesigned user interface, with a layout similar to that of the Android version and a darker theme.
Functionality of the app is also increased following the addition of three new functions; Browse, Discover and Radio. Browse enables convenient access to your playlists while Discover is a recommendation page based on your listening habits. The Radio function allows you to find genre-specific stations or allows you to create your own.
With the new update also comes general performance enhancements, bringing the Spotify app for Windows Phone to parity with those off Android and iOS.
