The Sony Xperia Z2 is a strong contender in the high-end smartphone category. Anytime now Sony will release this year’s replacement model, the Sony Xperia Z3. Now there are not much know about this device at the time being; no release dates, not much leak photos, not much information on its final design and plenty of other stuff. Now though we know some of the electronics that goes into this phone.
According to EVleaks the Xperia Z3 will feature the cream of the crop Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 running at 2.4GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM. Now if it is beginning to sound like a super high-end device, it actually is and not that you don’t already know it is meant to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One M8, currently the kings of the Android table. Graphics department is handled with the top of the line Adreno 330 so expect amazing gaming performance. What is interesting about this device is the 20.7 MegaPixel (MP) camera that will be strapped to the back while the front camera is a mere ordinary 2.1MP sensor. The 20.7MP set up is definitely not the highest MP count of camera fitted on a smartphone but it is still one of the largest in the market, especially coming from Sony. It will of course run on the latest Android KitKat 4.4.4. Covering and displaying all the Android goodness is the 5.15-inches screen at 1080p Full HD resolution. The screen is noticeably smaller than the older Sony Xperia Z2 but still boast the same resolution. Quite a strange move if you ask me, since other manufacturers makes their smartphone screens bigger and bigger with newer series.
