Last month we saw Sony launching the RX100 VI (mark 6). Of course we reported it, here. We also mentioned that we do not actually have an official launch date in Malaysia. We found out today that it is launching, well; today! In addition to the Sony RX100 VI, or you can write it as RX100m6 and it will still be fine, Sony also launched their VCT-SGR1 Shooting Grip for RX0 and RX100.
So, the RX100 VI then, let us get back to the star of the show. It features a 20.1-Megapixel sensor with an upgraded BIONZ X image processor. It comes with a 24-200mm f/2.8-f/4.5 lens that gives you a flexibility to shoot like no other.
The upgraded processor also allows this compact camera to have one of the fastest autofocus systems for a compact camera at 0.03 seconds. Sony’s advanced High-density Tracking AF technology also helps the accuracy of the AF tracking which does wonders when you take continuous shots at a maximum rate of 10fps.
It also shoots at 4K resolution with HDR like its bigger brothers, the Sony a6500 and a7 III series. You can even do slow motion videos at Full HD at 120fps. Super slow motion is also possible at up to 960fps too if you want it.
The 180-degree tiltable display with touch-shutter capabilities makes it perfect for either great selfies or even vlog type videos. This does seem like the perfect blogger camera with its compact size and flexibility offering. It even has a pop-up flash in case you need some extra lights. Its pop-up viewfinder keeps its body as compact as possible.
The Sony RX100 VI will be available 20th July onward in any Sony Stores or any of their authorised distributors and resellers nationwide. It will set you back MYR4,899; way lower than what was quoted in their last month’s launch. For more info on the product, do check out our launch coverage or Sony’s website.
