Sony Mobile has adopted a completely new design language in their new Xperia XZ2 which is definitely eye catching to say the least. In addition, the company has packed the XZ2 with enough power to contend with the best smartphones out there. One of the biggest changes is the lack of the the power button-fingerprint scanner hybrid. This has been replaced by a dedicated fingerprint reader on the back and a power button on the side of the device. In addition, the Sony Xperia XZ2 is also made completely of glass and metal. It also has curves! Yes, like a sexy lady.
The curvy flagship is also packed with the Snapdragon 845 octa-core (8-core) processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard of storage. It also has microSD and dual SIM capabilities. Thanks to its glass construction, the Xperia XZ2 also comes with wireless charging. It’s also equipped with USB 3.1 Type-C as well as near field communications (NFC) and Bluetooth 5.0.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 is also the company’s first device to come with their new Dynamic Vibration System (DVS). The DVS allows users to experience their content and games like they haven’t before. The DVS makes the device vibrate according to the content that the user consuming. This is done through the dynamic analysis of the sound from the content. Supported content include streamed videos from Netflix, YouTube and iflix; as well as games which have been optimised for the DVS. For now, this list is limited and already supports games such as Angry Birds and Candy Crush.

While the main flagship is the Sony Xperia XZ2, the large 5.7-inch screen may not be for everyone. Sony continues its legacy of releasing a Compact version of their flagship. However, they aren’t just making a smaller, less power packed version of the Xperia XZ2. Instead, the only consessions that Sony has made on the XZ2 Compact is the smaller screen size and overall device size and the lack of the DVS. Other than that, the XZ2 Compact is essentially the same power packed device with the same processor and specfications.
