Sony has been quite the tease with IFA kicking off in Berlin tomorrow. One of the more notable teases is the image teasing measurements of device released on Sony UK’s twitter account. The measurements 124 x 6.4 x ? mm which many speculate point towards a new mobile device possibly the rumoured Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. This theory is apparently supported by the measurements of the Z2 Tablet which shares the 6.4mm thickness and the 124mm measurement apparently supports an 8-inch screen size.
In addition to this teaser, Sony has released a teaser video which seems to confirm that they intend to release at least three devices at IFA 2014 in Berlin. This is also supported by the amount of leaks coming out of the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Although nothing has been confirmed.
However, if recent leaks are anything to go by, we might be seeing Sony release a new entry into its line of Smartwatches. The aptly named Sony Smartwatch 3 is apparently coming with a 1.68-inch 320 x 320 pixel resolution with IP58 certification with design choices seemingly taking its cues from the Samsung Gear 2. What’s interesting though is whether Sony will release the device with Android Wear or with its already established smartwatch ecosystem. In addition to the smartwatch, it seems like Sony is looking to add to its line of SmartBand devices with the SmartBand Talk which adds a curved e-ink display that is most likely going to bring notifications and other smartwatch functionality to the device.
