The Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 reference smartphones and tablets will be up for order by the mid of this month. There are Mobile Development Platforms and will start the ball rolling for apps and so on to be used in the 2015 product line up which are mostly going to be powered by 64-bit Octa-Core processors.
For us, who are not developers, it gives an idea of what to expect for the new year ahead. The reference smart phone sports a 6.2 inch Quad HD display with 2560×1600 resolution. Camera wise, it gets a 13 megapixel rear OIS camera that has dual flash and support 4K videos. On the front, it has a 4 megapixel Full HD shooter. Powering it is a 3020 mAh battery and it will be supporting Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 feature. There are eight mics as well as a UV Sensor and a finger print scanner on the device.
The reference smart phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s new 20nm Snapdragon 810 processor which includes 4x Cortex A57 cores and 4x Cortex A53 cores. This comes with 64 bit support and Adreno 430 GPU. The device also gets 4GB of LP-DDR4 RAM mated with 32GB eMMC 5.0 storage. The device is being sold for USD$799 (MYR 2793).
The reference tablet is sporting the same processor and RAM. It has however, 64 GB worth of storage. It features a 10.1 inch Ultra HD resolution display 3840 × 2160 giving the tablet 436ppi. It is mirror imaged camera wise but is powered by a 7560 mAh capacity battery. On top of that, it supports WiPower wireless charging. This device is priced at USD$999 (MYR 3492).
