Many have preferred round faced smartwatches to the typical squared designed ones – this is proven with the success of the Moto 360. The device overall looks more stylish and hence, has become a popular option for those looking to become owners of a tech wearable. Samsung has definitely picked up on the trend and documents show that it wants to create its very own version of the round smartwatch with one catch – it will run on its own operating system, Tizen.
Rumor has it that the South Korean tech giant has actually already developed a round faced smartwatch known as the Orbis. This is definitely a departure from the Gear squared design we are use to seeing from the tech giant. While this may be true, details are quite scarce on the matter. Above was the patent that kicked off the rumours of Samsung’s plans. Recently, the tech tycoon has also patented a ring operated design.
We’re expecting to see the Orbis in March at MWC 2015. This would be the same month Apple releases the Apple Watch.
