Samsung wants bigger screens for wearables!
A recent patent awarded to the South Korean tech giant has revealed that the company is looking to fix the one problem with the smartwatches – its small screens.
The patent shows that Samsung is looking to have bigger screens being used on its wearables. Patently Mobile has reported that Samsung submitted a patent for the ‘smart bangle’ somewhere last year. The device is basically a large curved screen that may be controlled by wrist and arms movements. Users also can control the screen by simply touching it.
The approved patent also revealed that the device will feature impressive security settings. It may even involve scanning of the owner’s face to unlock the gadget. Designs described in the documents range from a classic bangle design to a flexi band to a handcuff shaped model. It will put user convenience and comfort as a priority by inserting a cushion on the inside.
However, as we have said countless times, just because something is patented, it does not mean that we will ever see the end result. Companies sometimes simply want to claim an idea so that no one else does. Whether they choose to make that idea into a reality is a totally different matter all together.
