Samsung has reportedly been looking at ways to bring simple payments systems to the new line of smartwatches it intends to launch. It is hoping to reach this goal by the Mobile World Congress that takes place early next year.
Samsung is said to be partnering with Paypal in this project. The tech giant is planning to incorporate a biometric sensor in the smartwatch so that the identity of the user can be identified and to secure mobile payments. Samsung will be including Synaptics to ensure this part of the smartwatch is taken care of in a smooth manner. The partnering with Synaptics was confirmed by the company’s CEO, Richard Bergman.
The South Korean tech tycoon is definitely gearing up to take on the competition of Apple Watch and Apple’s payment service head on. The fingerprint sensor that the company is planning on having might just beat out Apple’s heart beat sensor.
