Samsung has now lost their grip in the Indian tablet market to Micromax, a local smartphone producer. At first, a research firm has reported that the Korean Company lost their grip, but it was quickly refuted by Samsung and they claimed to remain the market leader.
However, a new report from IDC is suggesting otherwise. This report claims that the slip in Samsung’s leadership position comes not in the smartphone market but instead in the tablet market. According to IDC, Samsung tablets took 12.9% of total sales locally, whereas iBall (local manufacturer) took about 15.6%. Datawind came third place with 9.6%, followed by Lenovo, and HP with 9.4% and 8.7% respectively.
So far, Samsung has not responded to the report IDC made yet.
