According to SamMobile, Samsung has added to its smartwatch plans! Instead of the square display we’ve been expecting, the company is looking to change things up and opt for a round smartwatch instead.
The South Korean tech tycoon leaves the normal Samsung Gear block design we are use to seeing for a round design. Why? Well, it simply wants to give the Moto 360 some good competition. It might also be because of LG’s round smartwatch plans as well.
Sources also note that this smartwatch will be SIM-enabled and be launched alongside the company’s virtual reality headset, the Samsung Gear VR at IFA 2014 which starts tomorrow.
We’re still unsure whether the wearable tech will be running on Samsung’s own operating system, Tizen or be part of the Android Wear platform. Either way, this sudden circular move is no surprise as the market seems to be more interested in the roundness than the normal chunky boring squareness!
