The South Korean tech giant is looking to do some rebranding with their app store!
Samsung announced that it will be giving it’s app store a face lift and a brand new name effective the 1st of July 2014. The Samsung Apps will now be called the Galaxy Apps. The app store also sees a new interface along with the spanking fresh (but predictable) name.
But, that’s not all you Samsung consumers get! Along with all this rebranding, you get access to a hundred over new apps. Note however that this is exclusively for Samsung Galaxy mobile devices. The apps have been categorised for easier access and convenience.
For example, the For Galaxy category has four sections that show various types of apps – Galaxy Gifts, Galaxy Essentials, Apps for Professionals and Galaxy Specials.
So why the face lift? Samsung explained that it is looking to give users the ability to customize their mobile devices and create a platform to publicize promotions and deals.
It looks like even though Samsung hasn’t said it, the company is gunning to compete with Google Play Store as Samsung create many devices which are powered by Android and have access to the Galaxy App Store.
