We’ve got some exciting news for you! It looks like Samsung will not only be launching the Galaxy Note 4 at the IFA 2014 but also, the Gear Solo!
According to Korean publication Yonhap News, sources claim that the South Korean tech giant is looking to unveil its new smartwatch! And, it looks like this gadget has nothing to do with Android Wear and is powered by Samsung’s very own operating system, Tizen.
The gadget stays true to its name, Gear Solo as it does not rely on any smartphone for it to be used and will feature a SIM card slot. The device is also rumoured to sport its very own USIM (universal subscriber identity module) card slot, allowing it to connect to cellular networks. This puts the device high above the rest.
However, with a better device always comes a higher price. Also, the Gear Solo may only support 3G and not be 4G LTE equipped. On top of that, we are unsure how the Gear Solo will deal with the battery drainage.
The Gear Solo, model number SM-R710 was earlier spotted heading to India for testing purpose with a unit price of Rs 12,292 (RM 650 or USD$204). The device just fuels our excitement and we cannot wait for Samsung’s Unpacked Event on September 3rd!
