Samsung has suffered a massive costly blow. How much are we talking about? We’re talking about $6 million (RM 19.2 million) worth of products. Why, how, when, what and who?
According to the Associated Press, the heist went down at Samsung’s factory in Brazil. Twenty robbers planned a Hollywood styled robbery that was perfect to the tee. The whole scene went down on Monday night, the 7th of July 2014. How exactly did this group do it? Simple – they hijacked a company bus and drove straight to the factory. And remember, a Hollywood robbery can’t be without hostages! Eight employees were brought along for the ride. The group stole the workers’ ID badges and took two out of the eight employees with them into the factory.
The heavily armed group forced their way into the factory after overpowering the security guards. Once they successfully got access, they spent three full hours taking Samsung products such as phones, laptops, tvs and other electronics. All these gadgets were filled into trucks. How many gadgets into how many trucks? Well, not that many just about 40 000 products into oh, about seven trucks. Yes, seven trucks. Luckily, through the whole incident, no one was hurt. Sadly, the employees lost their own phones too. Yes, the 40 000 taken was enough but the group didn’t want the police to be called. Hence, hand your phones over!
The latest update tells us that the South Korean company is working together with local authorities to find any clues and going through surveillance footage. How exactly was such a massive robbery successfully completed? Theories obviously point to the possibility of an inside job. Either that or those bunch of robbers are just marvellously genius at taking what’s not theirs.
