The IFA is coming up and the most anticipated device in that show is definitely the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. However that is not the only device that Samsung looks to unveil during the IFA, the Samsung Gear VR. The device was recently shown as the image above by The Verge. The new Virtual Reality device is also known as Project Moonlight by Samsung. This, apparently will be paired with a smartphone to create an immersive experience for the users. There are also reports that Samsung is actually working with the now Facebook owned Oculus on this device.
It is widely known that some of the newer versions of the original Oculus Rift’s display was taken from the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. That is a statement in itself that current smartphone displays have high enough resolution and have enough sensors to work with the headset to create the virtual reality experience.
From the looks of the photo it does look like the device is compatible with most of Samsung’s current range of high end smartphones and connect to them via MicroUSB port. It also looks like you can adjust the focus of the lens on the device. It also appears that the smartphone that is connected to the device will be secured by a lid. Judging by the image also it seems that this device is created to cater for their upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that is rumoured to be launched alongside it. Whatever it may look like it has we do not have much clue to how it will work or how good it will be when it is release. I guess we just have to wait until IFA to find out.
