The Samsung Gear Live was announced and launched unexpectedly at the Google I/O conference recently held in the United States. The device wasn’t launched simultaneously worldwide as Samsung has been known to do but has been launching quickly in stages.
Last week, the Samsung Gear Live was made available via the Google Play Store for purchase in Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. A few days later, it was ready for purchase in Australia, Japan, and South Korea.
The latest addition to this long list of countries – India! On July 2nd, the Samsung Gear Live was made available for the Asian country for INR 15,900 (RM 850). Don’t get too excited though as the gadgets aren’t set to ship for a few more weeks.
Samsung’s Gear Live features 1.63 inch 320x320p Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and a 300 mAh battery. Don’t forget the heart-rate monitor as well! Also, the Samsung Gear Live runs on Google’s newly announced Android Wear platform which makes it even more compelling.
No word yet on whether the Samsung Gear Live will make an appearance via Samsung in Malaysia or any other Southeast Asian country. But we’ll be keeping a look out.
