Samsung’s brand name nowadays have been associated with the Google’s Android brand a lot. It looks like Samsung may associate itself with Google directly in the upcoming IFA. There are rumours going around about Samsung looking to make their own version of the smart glass. Whether or not it will have any association with the Google Glass or whether there is any truth to the rumour is not clear. The rumour comes around in a Korean local publication Business Korea. According the the local publication some unnamed associate from the Korean giant said:
“We rolled out the smartwatch first, and have secured a considerable amount of smart glass-related technology and patents. Following the roll out of our smart watch Galaxy Gear in September last year, we are slated to introduce our smart glass Gear Glass this September.”
It is rumoured that the Samsung Gear Glass runs on Tizen and would launch alongside Samsung Galaxy Note 4, it would be augmenting the user experience of supported devices by displaying notifications and other information that can fit into the display. Reported to have an earpiece and a lens display for the right side of the head nothing much else is known about the device other than it looks like a blatant move to directly compete with the Google Glass (especially with the name). Despite that, we shall have to wait for its launch to gain a clearer picture of Samsung’s motive. We at techENT like the idea of wearable tech especially the Google Glass type, makes us feel like we’re in Dragon Balls. Would you get one?
