The recently released Samsung Gear 2 which runs on the company’s own TizenOS has just been updated to version 2.2.12 which brings a whole of bug fixes as well as some new features.
The update, which is about 20MB in size, adds a new mode to the smartwatch called “Blocking Mode” which enables the user to block incoming notifications. The feature can also be set so that its enabled when the user is asleep. Also in the Gear 2 update are stability updates to the device as well as general updates to S Health.
The update comes a few weeks after the update to the Samsung Galaxy Gear which removed the “Galaxy” branding from the device converting it into a TizenOS running Gear. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the update being rolled out to Samsung’s other wearable devices such as the Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit in the next few days.
