Samsung’s Tab S series has evolved to be one of the company’s best tablet offerings. Since the Tab S3, the line up has taken laser focus on being productive and creative with the inclusion of their signature S-Pen. Before this the S-pen was the mainstay of the Note series. However, with the introduction of the S-Pen on the Tab S series, the tablet became a device primed for productivity.
With the release of their new Tab S6, Samsung has upped the ante when it comes to S-Pen functionality. The new Tab S6 comes with a Bluetooth enabled S-Pen which was first introduced with the Note9 but increases the number of ways you can use it. The S-Pen can now be used in conjunction gestures now. Samsung is calling these gestures S Pen Air Actions. In addition to being able to take selfies remotely, the S Pen can now be used to control media and even switch between camera modes. It now has 10 hours battery life with 10 minutes of charge and wireless charging capabilities.
In addition to the new S Pen functionality, the Tab S6 makes taking notes a little more intuitive and allows users to turn handwritten notes into digital text and formats such as Microsoft Word with a single click. The Tab S6 also has better multi-tasking with the ability to take notes and sketch while watching videos. These features and more are made possible with the Samsung Notes app.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 also comes with a more refined take on Samsung DeX. The new Desktop experience allows users to seamlessly transition between a desktop and tablet experience. Users are able to better multitask on the desktop mode while on-the-go. The experience is complemented with the new Book Cover Keyboard with a dedicated DeX button. The button allows users to launch the tablet in DeX with ease.
The Tab S6 is also Samsung’s first tablet to come with a dual array main camera. The camera setup on the tablet is a 13-megapixel Ultra-Wide main sensor with a 123° field of view and a f/2.2 aperture paired with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with an 80° field of view and an f/2.0 aperture. The Tab S6 comes with a under display fingerprint sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is equipped with a 10.5-inch WXGA Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1600×2560 pixels. It is complemented with AKG tuned Quad speakers and Dolby Atmos certification. The experiences on the Tab S6 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 and has either 6GB or 8GB of RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of internal memory. All of this powered by a 7040mAh battery.
