Samsung’s latest experimental line, the Galaxy Alpha, seems to be taking off. The Galaxy Alpha has apparently spawned a new line of devices carrying the Galaxy A moniker. The Galaxy A series has so far been looking to be a decidedly mid range series of devices although it will be one of the first lines of devices from the South Korean device manufacturer to carry forward the design language of the Galaxy Alpha with a unibody design and magnesium frame. There have been three devices reportedly making up the first wave of Galaxy A devices: the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7. The Galaxy A5 (SM-A500) has, so far, been the only confirmed name while the other two go by their SM-A300 and SM-A700 moniker for now.
Our first bunch of leaks comes regarding the larger of the three devices, the Galaxy A7, which according to a shipping manifest by Zauba will be coming with a 5.5-inch display though not much else. However, a few tidbits of information were also shared by SamMobile. Apparently, the 5.5-inch Galaxy A entry will come with Dual SIM capabilities and also be 4G LTE ready. It will also be coming with a price tag in the region of USD$45o (RM 1470) to USD$500 (RM 1635). The recommended retail price is supposedly USD$ 500 (RM 1635). There’s no word on which countries will be getting the A7 although it has been mentioned that the device will see a limited release in select markets only.
In addition, the A5 seems to be leaking information again as it passes through the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The A5 is apparently coming with 4G LTE connectivity, which all three Galaxy A devices have already been rumoured to have. However, the document at the FCC points to the Galaxy A5 heading to all major U.S. Carriers. We covered a massive leak previously with pictures and specifications.
The final and smallest entry to the Galaxy A series, for now, is the A3 or SM-A300 which is our biggest leak this time. The leak comes to us courtesy of TENAA, China’s FCC equivalent. The leak brings us images of the device which is very reminiscent of its parent Galaxy Alpha. The mid ranged phone will come with a 4.5-inch qHD (quarter HD) display with 540 x 940 pixels resolution. The A3 will apparently come with a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which is supposed to be expandable via microSD with an additional 64GB of memory. It will apparently also come with a 8.0-MegaPixel camera with a 5-MegaPixel front facing camera. The device will come in at about USD$ 200 (RM 655).
So there you have it, all the leaks regarding the Galaxy A series of devices so far. Are you planning on getting one?
