Samsung has been struggling in the past year to gain a stronger foothold in the smartphone industry. In fact they have been on the decline with the entry of new players in the market. Their market share have been eroding and they have been shaken down. The past year alone they have seen a drastic drop in sales numbers and revenue as well. This is alarming for Samsung and they have decided that they are going to start from scratch with the Galaxy S6 and also narrowing their product offerings. Both are good initiatives.
It seems though that those two strategies will not stop the decline of the South Korean giant still. The giant was expected to make about KRW20.8 trillion (MYR69.34 billion) as of the year of 2015 and that itself is already 6% lower than the earnings they made last year at an estimated KRW22.1 trillion (MYR73.67 billion). Compared to 2013 the estimated earning is a massive 27.3% drop. With the amount of zeros in a trillion, it is no small amount of a loss.
Samsung Galaxy S6 sure does have a lot to live up to. But is it going to be the saviour like it is touted to be? We do doubt very much when we actually see the numbers coming in. Of course it does also look very disappointing for the board members. Reports are reports though and they will not tell the full story of a company at times, and these are just forecasts anyway so what do you think? Will the Samsung Galaxy S6 be enough for Samsung to make a recovery or not? Hit us up in the comments below.
