A new update is landing on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with the build number N9005XXUFNF4. The update is coming to the unlocked SM-N9005 in the U.K. bringing features that were originally launched the manufacturer’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S5. The update weighs in at about 185 MB.
The update brings along the Download Booster feature, which has been blocked by some carriers in the U.S. and the U.K., which uses both your WiFi and Cellular data connections to increase download speeds on the device. Another feature being brought to the Galaxy Note 3 is the Kids Mode which makes your device more child friendly. The feature essentially replaces your home screen with a colourful child friendly interface and locks down the device, allowing access to only predefined applications.
Finally, Samsung brings Knox 2 in the update to fortify the Galaxy Note 3 with new features such as dual APNs, real-time process monitoring of applications trying to access the device Kernel and Key Storage encryption keys management. This update makes life a whole more secure for users who are using their Samsung Note 3 for work.
There’s no word yet on the availability of the update in Malaysia or Singapore but keep an eye for the update in the coming weeks as the device receiving the update is the Snapdragon 800 4G LTE variant which is used here. I’ve already been checking for the Over The Air update daily but no update yet.
