Samsung was teasing about the behemoth device that boast display larger than life. It was supposed to be a follow up to the previous Samsung behemoth phone, the Samsung Galaxy Mega. The original device comes in two sizes; 5.8-inches and 6.3-inches. The replacement model was rumoured to be offered in two sizes as well but it looks as though this time it does not.
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 that is currently available in Malaysia boasts a 6-inches display with 1280 x 720 pixels packed into it. It runs on a quad core processor clocked at 1.5GHz paired with a 1.5GB RAM compared to the 2GB it had in the original Mega. It packs an 8GB storage on board and it is MicrodSD expandable. The camera comes in the form of a 8 MegaPixel sensor at the back. It runs on Android 4.4.3 out of the box so it is not out dated. Like the older Samsung Galaxy Mega the specs are anything but impressive. But at least it is good enough to fit in the mid-range category comfortably.
Some of you viewers also might find that the spec list of this device is also less impressive than the older device. But here is the thing, the old device retailed for RM1,599 for the 16GB version while this new one will only set you back RM1,299 and it is MicroSD expendable. With the kind of price offered then we cannot complain too much about the specs. Still the lower price could also be Samsung’s strategy to attract more buyers. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 is now available for purchase in Sen Heng.
