Samsung Entering Home Automation at IFA
With the recent purchase of SmartThings for $200 million, Samsung has quite a few plans in the home automation industry.
And it looks like these plans are already moving with the South Korean tech giant announcing that it will be holding a keynote at the upcoming event in Berlin, the IFA 2014. The keynote will be to discuss the company’s vision for its platform ‘Home of the Future’.
Boo-Keun Yoon, President and one of the Chief Executive Officers at Samsung, will deliver the opening keynote speech on 5th September where he will discuss the importance and future of home automation and the company’s commitment to innovation in that regard. Yoon stated that “The IFA trade show has a long history of showcasing the latest in technology innovation. Samsung will once again be joining the dialogue at IFA to discuss where true innovation lies today – and how it is transforming our lives and the way we live.”
It looks like along with wearable tech, home automation has become the next big thing for the tech industry. We can’t wait to see what the tech giant has to say and what its plans are for its role in home automation.
