Samsung’s first ever metal framed Galaxy headset, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha has finally landed in Malaysia!
The Galaxy Alpha is the first device to feature the tech giant’s “evolution of Galaxy design”. Featuring a metal frame, the device screams sophistication compared to what we’ve seen previously from the company. It is also one of the smallest smartphones currently in the market – it only weights 115 grams and has a width of 6.7mm.
The Galaxy Alpha sports a 4.7 inch 720 Super AMOLED display, and is powered by a Samsung Exynos octa-core chipset (1.8GHz quad-core + 1.3GHz quad-core). It also features 2 GB of RAM which is mated with 32 GB worth of non-expandable internal storage. It runs on Android KitKat 4.4.4 and TouchWiz UI runs on top of that. The device is powered by a removable 1860 mAh battery.
The Galaxy Alpha has a 12 megapixl rear camera that records 4K video and a 2.1 megapixel front shooter. In addition, it is equipped with an array of sensors including heart rate, fingerprint, hall, and the more usual accelerometer, gyro, geomagnetic and proximity sensors. It also has NFC and LTE Cat 6 support.
The first 200 Galaxy Alpha owners will also be able to redeem a complimentary 2 days 1 night stay at the Deluxe Safari Tent at Caravan Serai, worth RM470. Redemption of this deal can be made at the Galaxy Life app, but the deal is only available until December 31, 2014
For the first 100 customers who purchase the Alpha at the Samsung Experience Stores in The Gardens, Kuala Lumpur as well as in Gurney Paragon, Penang make sure you claim your free Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch! Those who purchase the device in Maxis Centre in KLCC will also receive the free smartwatch.
The Galaxy Alpha is available in Black and White with the Silver and Gold variants coming soon. The device will cost any interested purchaser RM 1899 (USD$ 587.20).
