It seems LG is jumping back on the Windows Phone bandwagon, with leaks showing the new LG Uni8, currently in the works.
Courtesy of @evleaks, the render shows the new LG Uni8, expected to be the running on Windows Phone 8.1. Not much information is available on the device including specifications and features. What we can observe from the render is the angular design of the phone, which is nothing spectacular but seems to fit well with the new interface. There are also three visible on screen buttons and the standard front-facing camera.
The LG Uni8 will be the first Windows phone manufactured by LG since 2010, when they decided to stop manufacturing Windows Phones devices. It will join the ranks of LG’s first generation of Windows Phones such as the LG Quantum and Optimus 7 released in 2010. The return of LG to manufacturing Windows Phone devices could likely stem from Microsoft’s recent announcement that Windows Phone will now be offered free of charge to manufacturers.
No official confirmation and release dates have been announced by LG as of yet. If this phone is indeed in the works. it will be interesting to see if LG will continue to produce Windows Phones in the foreseeable future.
