There’s are more and more brands appearing on the tech and smartphone industry. However, Realme has differentiated itself through its recognised by Forbes as the most disruptive company in the industry. The company has grown to 10,000,0000 users worldwide. With about 848% growth in sales, the company is proving that they have devices that appeal not just because of its design but due to its price point.
This year, Realme is focusing on bringing the much sought after quad camera array. Kicking off what they call “The Year of Quad”, the company is introducing their flagship Realme 5 Pro. This new flagship comes with the Sony IMX471 quad camera array as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712. The new setup comes with a 48-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDFAF). This is paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture; a 2-megapixel macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture; and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. On the front of the Realme 5 Pro is a single 16-megapixel sensor with a f/2.0 aperture.
Supplementing the Snapdragon 712 AIE is 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Realme 5 Pro has microSD card support for an additional 256GB of memory. The Pro comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+, IPS LCD display. The 5 Pro comes with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 with support for LE and GPS connectivity. It has support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging to quickly top off the the 4,035mAh battery.
The Realme 5, on the other hand, is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 Octacore processor paired with either 3GB of RAM or 4GB of RAM. This is complemented with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage respectively. On the display front, the Realme 5 has a 6.5-inch IPS, LCD Display. This has a HD+ resolution.
When it comes to cameras, the Realme 5 also comes with a quad camera setup. The main sensor on the 5 is a 12-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 wide angle sensor. This is paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide angle sensor with an aperture of f/2.2; a 2-megapixel macro sensor; and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front is a 13-megapixel f/2.0 sensor.
Similar to the 5 Pro, the 5 comes with all the bells and whistles when it comes to connectivity. Though, the Realme 5 doesn’t come with support for VOOC charging for it’s 5,000mAh battery.
Pricing & Availability
The Realme 5 series goes on sale starting in October 2019.
The Realme 5 Pro will be available in Crystal Green and Sparkling Blue for MYR1,099. First sales start on 10 October 2019 at 10AM exclusively on Lazada. Pre-orders are available now and will also come with Alan Walker headphones.
The Realme 5 will be available in Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple. The 3GB+64GB variant will cost MYR599 while the 4GB +128GB will cost MYR799. It will be available exclusively on Lazada starting on 17 October 2019.
