PayPal.com has received a visual makeover, with a fresh new app-inspired interface for a more simplified user experience.
PayPal’s vice president of global product solutions, Carey Kolaja, has talked about the efforts undertaken by the e-commerce giants to refresh its image and keep up with the times. The latest in this effort is a complete revamp of the account page interface. The new interface has some app-like qualities such as big icons and well spaced lines of text. The overall effect of this is that the interface is much more simplified and easier on the eye. The old interface was rather cluttered and appeared “old-fashioned” compared to various other websites today.
New features have also been added to improve user experience on the update PayPal site. There is now a wizard that encourages the connection of bank accounts or credit cards to the PayPal account. This would prevent the incurring of fees during future transactions and simplifies transfers between your bank and PayPal accounts.
Another major improvement is the simplified interface for requesting and sending money. The interface has shifted from a multitude of tabs to four simple buttons to perform these tasks, greatly streamlining this process.
PayPal also updated their digital wallet feature, making it stand out more in the new interface to encourage its use. To help with that, there are plans to provide discounts at select merchants with an option to save offers to be used at a later date through the wallet feature. The offers will be cross-platform, which means offers saved online can be used for mobile and vice versa.
The latest attempt of PayPal in refreshing its image seems like a step in the right direction. And we are certain it won’t be the last.
