OUYA has been quite silent over the past few months except for a couple announcements such as OUYA Everywhere.
According to Re/Code, the Android based game console is being quiet because it is actually in acquisition talks with other companies. It seems that some of the major players from China and America are quite interested in the company. XiaoMi and Tencent as well as Google and Amazon are basically trying to purchase OUYA. The most interesting part of it all is that everyone is more interested in the acquiring the staff rather than just OUYA’s infamous game console.
Just two years ago, OUYA raised over $8 million on the Kickstater website to help fund its vision of a $99 Android game console that only used free-to-play games. However, when the console launched in 2013, it sadly didn’t get that much sales.
Why do you think everyone is trying to purchase OUYA? Is gaming going to be the next in thing for 2015?
