Oppo N3 has been launched and it does have a rotating camera as per expected. What we didn’t expect is that the rotating camera would be motorized. This means users don’t have to use their hands to rotate the camera but if you choose to, there isn’t a risk of damaging the camera’s Schneider Electric step motor.
You will be able to control the rotation of the camera in a number of ways such as through the touch display, the rear fingerprint scanner as well as through the O-Click 2.0 Bluetooth Remote Control. In addition, the N3 is covered with faux leather.
Oppo has priced the N3 at USD$649 (MYR 2122) but according to Oppo Malaysia, it should be priced at most RM 2049 (USD$610) when it lands in Malaysia by the end of the year.
As for specs, the device features a 5.5 inch full HD 1080p display which is protected with a layer of Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AA quad-core processor which is mated to 2 GB worth of RAM. On top of that, the N3 has 32 GB worth of internal memory expandable up to 128 GB via microSD. The phone has 3000 mAh battery capacity which can charged up to 75% in half an hour as VOOC mini has been included this time around.
Camera wise, the N3 sports a 16 megapixel 1/2.3 inch CMOS sensor with a F2.2 lens which is complemented with a dual LED flash. The camera can shoot 4K videos at 30 frames per second as well as capture a 50 megapixels image through a mode called Ultra HD under the camera’s Pure Image 2.0+ technology.
The Chinese manufacturer launchd the Oppo R5 as well which is allegedly the world’s slimmest smartphone!
The device is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 octa-core 64-bit processor mated with 2GB worth of RAM which is complimented with 16GB worth of internal memory. The gadget sports a 5.2 inch full HD 1080p AMOLED display. The phone does not support microSD so users will need to make do with the 16GB internal memory the R5 has. It unfortunately, doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones so users need to use the USD adapter included by Oppo to access music.
Cool Element has been included this time around to avoid overheating. It uses phase-change material to dissipate heat from the device. Camera wise, the R5 has a 13 megapixel Sony rear camera with Exmor IMX214 sensor, F2.0 5-elements lens and LED flash. There is a 5 megapixel front shooter.
The R5 is powered by a 2000 mAh battery and the device uses Oppo’s VOOC Mini rapid charger. The device is priced at USD$ 499 (MYR 1631) but once it hits Malaysian shelves early December, it should be only MYR 1598 (USD$ 476)
