OnePlus Opens in Beijing and Comes to India
OnePlus has made quite an impact with the release of its very impressive OnePlus One flagship smartphone. The device is affordable yet it doesn’t disappoint specs wise. With this gadget under its belt, the company is doing surprisingly well.
It’s doing so well that it just opened its first store in Beijing, China. The OnePlus One is in stock in the store and the location serves as a support center for any new customer coming through the doors. This helps any interested person to have a hands on experience with the company’s products.
The store will begin its trial run starting the 1st of next month and will be open publicly on the 20th of December.
In another part of Asia, India is officially receiving the OnePlus One on the 2nd of December. Amazon previously teased the “unbelievable” in an image showing off the outline of the flagship. It has been unveiled that the OnePlus One will be sold through an invite system run by Amazon. Invites will only be limited to users in India.
1000 invites will be given via the Internet and to buy the OnePlus One, you need that invite to be yours. Interested in getting one? You can do so by subscribing to OnePlus’ newsletter or you can get an invite from a friend who will be buying the smartphone. Once you get the invite on the 2nd of December, you have exactly 48 hours to complete the purchase. Sounds so Amazing Race like. The device is rumored to cost about Rs. 24,990 (USD$ 405/MYR 1355) for the 64GB model and Rs. 19,990 (USD$325/MYR 1088) for the 16GB model.
Touted as the “2014 Flagship Killer”, the OnePlus One has got the hardware to match. Starting with the latest generation of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon; the 801 quad core clocked in at 2.5GHz, it is properly powerful and should be snappy. With Adreno 330 GPU included lags and ugly graphics would be a thing of the past. Memory wise there is a choice of either a 16GB or 64GB, nothing in between while RAM is at a whopping 3GB! Of course it has got the usual array of sensors that comes as standard in any smartphone nowadays. Included also is Bluetooth 4.0, LTE bands, 802.1 a/b/g/n wifi antenna, and NFC. Displaying the proven CyanogenMod 11S based on the Android 4.4 KitKat is a 5.5 inches 1080p Full HD IPS screen. To capture your moments the camera is a dual LED supported Sony Exmor IMX 214 sensor capable of 13-megapixel stills and 4K videos. You can even use this camera to capture slow motion videos with 720p resolution and at a maximum of 120fps. Above the impressive display is a 5-megapixel camera. Powering all these would be a 3100mAh Lithium Polymer internal battery.
