Nokia has just announced the availability its latest Android device, the Nokia XL in the IMEA (India, Middle East, Africa) and APAC (Asia Pacific) regions.
The XL is the latest in the Android based X family of Nokia smartphones, offering mid-range specifications. This dual-sim phone sports a 5-inch WVGA display with 480×800 pixels resolution. Under the hood is a Snapdragon S4 Play chipset with dual core 1GHz Cortex A5 and an Adreno 203 GPU. It carries a 5 megapixel primary and a 2 megapixel front facing camera with 4GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB with microSD as well as 768MB of RAM.
While not being particularly gifted in specifications, the XL is shipped with Nokia’s own version of Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and bears its own Nokia app store in place of the traditional Google Play Store. It essentially allows Nokia loyalists to get a taste of the Android OS. Apart from bearing a bold colour palette, the phone also comes bundled with apps such as Skype and OneDrive along with a handy Contacts Transfer app for convenience when upgrading to the XL.
