With the likes of the Nokia 808 PureView, N9 and the Lumia 1020 equipped with Nokia’s PureView, Nokia is probably the current king of mobile phone imaging. The stated phones are all very different in their own rights; size wise, operating system wise, design language and others. But there is one thing that is connecting them other than their PureView technology; that is the person who worked on all three devices – Ari Partinen. Regarded by Nokia as “our own camera expert”, Partinen worked on the cameras of each device be it from image quality, module production, quality control and on their product development as well. He also play an important role in the development of the current line of Lumia Windows Phones. So what does he have to do with Apple?
The camera on Apple’s iPhone has proven to be one of the leaders in mobile phone imaging since the iPhone 4. At one point iPhone was regarded to have the best camera in the smartphone market. Over the past few years though the competition have been stepping up their game and started the megapixel race, and as we know the higher the megapixel, the better the image quality. As the competition heats up Apple definitely need a little hand to gain an upper hand again. We think that this is where Ari Partinen comes in to save the day for Apple. Our guess is that he would be implementing some image stabilisation softwares, and other similar features with Nokia’s PureView technology. However do not keep your hopes up with the inclusion of the technologies associated with Nokia for the upcoming iPhone 6 though.
