Nexus 6 Passes SIRIM
A smartphone with the model number XT1100 has just passed through the local SIRIM database and it looks to be the Nexus 6 en route to Malaysia! The device is set to be distributed by Brightstar. Currently, import retailers are selling the Nexus 6 32GB variant for MYR 2679 (USD$737) while the 64GB model has been on sale for MYR 3189 (USD$878).
Specifications & Design
As in previous years, the Nexus 6 takes its design cues – heavily – from Motorola’s flagship Moto X with its dual front facing speakers and metallic frame. It also has a nearly bezelless construction with Motorola’s circle flash around the camera module and its now signature dimple in the back with the Motorola logo. The only difference is the adjustment of the volume and power buttons to accommodate the size of the phone.
The Nexus 6 comes with a 5.96-inch 1440 x 2560 pixel Quad HD AMOLED display. It comes packing a punch in the processor department with the top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Quad core processor clocked at 2.5 GHz paired with an Adreno 420 graphic processor. The processor is supported by 3 GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage without microSD expansion.
The Nexus 6 also comes with a more robust shooter compare to the Nexus 5 with an f 2.0 13-MegaPixel rear camera sensor with optical image stabilization and a 2-MegaPixel front facing camera. The rear camera come with a dual LED flash with Motorola’s circle flash design.
In addition, the phablet comes equipped with WiFI 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, Near field communication (NFC) and Bluetooth 4.0 support. It also supports an array of GSM, CDMA and LTE bands – essentially making the phone a “world phone”. Also coming with the Nexus 6 is an accelerometer, gyro sensor, proximity sensor, compass and barometer.
These specifications will be powered by a 3220 mAh battery with support for wireless charging. The Nexus 6 also supports Motorola’s Turbo Charge technology which will is claimed to allow the phablet to get 6 ho
rs of battery life from 5 minutes of charging. All of this is contained in a body measuring 82.98 mm x 159.26 mm x 10.06 mm weighing only 184 g.
The newly announced Nexus 6 will come equipped at launch with the latest and greatest iteration, Android 5.0 Lollipop.
