The Nexus line of devices has seen increasing popularity especially with the last two releases, the Nexus 4 and 5. However, recent rumours surrounding the Google brand have been less than delightful with rumours of the brand’s impending demise and replacement with Android Silver gaining steam.
News coming from LG itself has top dog Ken Hong claiming that LG has not been approached by the search behemoth to produce the follow up to the Nexus 5, the Nexus 6 or Nexus 5 2014. However, it is not uncommon for Google and its partners to be extremely secretive of their upcoming devices.
(Rough translation) I know at least not yet. Normally, we were informed. That can mean two things: Either I got ignored, or we simply won’t be making ‘the next Nexus phone’.
LG Communications Director
We can’t be sure whether the Nexus 6 will see the light of day. However, Google I/O will be the place where Google will choose to reveal the future of Android. Hopefully, the flagship devices from Google will continue on under the Android Silver branding.
