It was in the rumor mill that an updated Passport from BlackBerry with the codename Dallas/Oslo was coming soon. We’ve also now learnt that it seems that Malaysia might be one of the first countries to get the device.
A device with the model number SQW100-4 was found in the SIRIM database. With the BlackBerry Passport having the model number SQW100-1, it’s no surprise if this turns out to be the Dallas as a follow up to the Passport.
The whispers are saying that the Dallas will be powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 801 processo mated with 3 GB worth of RAM and come with the signature Blackberry QWERTY keys. It will also be powered by a 3,450 mAh battery. This are the same specs as the Passport. So, we’re not quite sure what differs Dallas from Passport. But it should be running on the latest BlackBerry OS 10.3.2 out of the box. Camera wise, just like its predecessor, the smartphone will be getting a 13 megapixel OIS camera on its back and a 4.5 inch 1440p display.
We’re expecting the Dallas to come in silver as per the leaked picture above but no official announcement has been made about the smartphone just yet.
