Motorola’s popular mid-range handset is about to land in Malaysia. The device will be launching this Friday on the 11th of July. Motorola first announced the device in May at an event where it also announced the Moto E, Motorola’s first budget device since been purchased by Google and subsequently Lenovo.
The Moto G first launched in 2013 in America and made its way to Malaysia earlier this year in a Dual Sim variant costing RM 698 (USD$ 220) for the 8GB version and RM 798 (USD$ 251) for the 16GB version. The device came with a 4.5-inch 720p HD IPS LCD display. The Moto G runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with a Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 under the hood with 1 GB of RAM. On the camera front, the device came with a 5 MegaPixel front facing camera with a 1.3 MegaPixel front facing camera. The device also came with a replaceable back shell which came in a multitude of colours. However, the device lacked 2 things – 4G LTE connectivity and a microSD card slot.
Motorola’s update to the original Moto G, the aptly named Moto G 4G, remedies just that. It brings the amazing price point of the Moto G with 4G LTE connectivity and a microSD card slot which supports additional memory up to 32 GB. The device will retail RM 799 (USD$ 252) for the 8 GB version, the only version which will be brought in according to our sources.
