Motorola’s latest affordable smartphone, the Moto E, is set to make it Malaysian debut on 13th August. The device will be released and distributed, initially, exclusively by online digital market, Lazada. The younger sibling of Motorola’s affordable mid range offering, the Moto G, is set to be sold just under the RM 400 mark at RM 399 (USD$ 126).
The Moto G was announced earlier this year by Motorola as a further push for sales in emerging markets such as India. The device runs on a Snapdragon 200 dual core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage which is expandable by an additional 32 GB of space via microSD. The Moto E comes with a 4.3-inch qHD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It also comes with a 5-megapixel shooter and is powered by a 1,980 mAh battery. The Moto E will launch preloaded with Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
Motorola touted the Moto E as a budget phone which was built to last. The phone has a similar form factor to it older sibling, the Moto X and Moto G, having only one element which makes it stand out: front firing speakers. It shares the customizability options of the Moto G which allows users to swap out the back cover of the device for a different colour.
If you want to get a cheap phone, look no further than the Moto E. You’ll get the best bang for your buck with excellent performance thanks to Motorola’s decision to keep its Android experience close to stock. This also guarantees quick updates as Motorola has demonstrated previously with their other devices – delivering it Android update within weeks of Google’s release.
