The much anticipated Motorola Android Wear powered Moto 360 is set to make its debut in two weeks at the September 4th Motorola event. However, that doesn’t seem to stop the leaks from coming.
This time, the leak comes courtesy of Best Buy who accidentally uploaded a page containing pricing and information on the wearable. According to the posting, the Moto 360 will be priced at USD$ 249.99 (RM 790). This falls in line with a leak which surfaced in a watch face designing contest earlier this year. Also, leaked was the size of the screen, which is stated to be a 1.5-inch Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) with a resolution of 320×290 pixels. The leak also points to the Moto 360 having a plastic back which makes sense when it comes down to induction/wireless charging. The wearable is also indicated to be water resistant up to 3.3-feet (1.01 m).
All of these features are said to be powered by a Texas instruments processor in addition to a pedometer and heart rate sensor. The one fishy piece of the puzzle is the indicated WiFi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity. This is due to the fact that Android Wear uses Bluetooth for connectivity.
While the information seems to be plausible, we think that the price and specifications in the listing may just be place holders for the actual ones which will be confirmed by Motorola at the September event.
