Microsoft appears to be working on their latest flagship, the Lumia 940 and recent leaks show that it is one for the high end market.
It’s been a while since we have seen a Windows running smartphone with truly cutting edge specs. Leaks obtained by PhoneArena show however that the upcoming Lumia 940 is bringing in the latest in performance and also potentially Windows 10. The leaked device was shown to have a 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor with 3GB of RAM and the option of 32, 64 or 128 GB of internal storage. It will sport a 5-inch 1080p display, a similar panel to the Lumia 930 and more interestingly, will be protected by an as of yet unreleased Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Another amazing feature of this phone is its cameras. The rear shooter is an astounding 24MP PureView cameara and the front camera is 5MP. As seen in the leaked image, it mentions the device is running on firmware dubbed “Windows Phone10”. We have no official word or leaks about it but this could probably mean that the Lumia 940 could be the first to run Windows 10.
The specifications of the Lumia 940 looks amazing indeed, some might say to good to be through. It doesn’t help that it cites the use of two unannounced or even unleaked items (Gorilla Glass 4 and Windows Phone 10). So it is best taken with a grain of salt.
