Mi Router landing in Malaysia!
Malaysia has yet to get its hands on the Mi TV, Mi 4 and Mi Pad from Xiaomi just yet. But if you want to expand your Xiaomi product collection, you might just be in luck. According to the SIRIM database, the Malaysian Mi Store is about to start selling its Mi Router.
Listed as model number R1D, the device is equipped with a 802.11ac WiFi and 1TB of storage. The Mi Router is the company’s version of a wireless hotspot that also works as a private storage server. Transferring data is going to super fast with the device’s speed up to 1167 Mbps.
The Mi Router is powered by Broadcom’s BCM4709 dual-core Cortex-A9 processor which is mated with 256MB of worth of RAM. It also features a dual-band 2×2 antenna design as well as a replaceable 1TB 2.5 inch hard disk drive.
Users can easily manage the device via the web or a smartphone app. Through the mobile app, users can manage the Mi Router’s home server system. Available only in black, users can add devices by tapping on the NFC on the top of the device and hook up the device via the USB 2.0, 2x LAN ports and 1x WAN port.
We’re expecting to see the device being sold on Xiaomi’s infamous Tuesday flash sales for about MYR 400 (estimate from China sales of CNY 699). It’s definitely a sell out device waiting to happen so get ready to click on that buy button!
