Another competitor enters the smartphone foray in the form of the Chinese electronics company Meizu. Recent leaks have revealed Meizu’s upcoming device, the Meizu K52, dubbed “Blue Charm”. As with compatriots XiaoMi and Oppo, Meizu is offering a device that brings high specs with a very affordable price tag.
The Meizu K52 is available in 2 sizes; 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch. Rumors regarding the performance of this device are pretty interesting. It is expected to sport a 64-bit MediaTek 1.7GHz octa-core processor, with support for 4G LTE. The display is also rumored to have full HD resolution for both sizes. From the interface screenshot, we can see two SIM card logos, suggesting possible dual SIM support. The device itself looks pretty reminiscent of an iPhone in terms of the design of both the front and back panels, although the back panels are coloured. The build material of this device looks primarily to be plastic. At a price tag of approximately RM447, the Meizu K52 is the cheapest smartphone to sport a full HD display today.
The Blue Charm devices by Meizu will be set to launch during their No Blue today. With its low price tag and offering of a full HD display, it may just be able to standout from the competition come 2015.
