The ASUS Republic of Gamers’ latest concept laptop is no stranger to the gaming community. The gaming power house was announced earlier this year at Computex in Taiwan. It is, to-date, one of the slimmest gaming laptops ever made. The laptop takes advantage of Nvidia’s Max-Q design. While little detail has been shared about the Max-Q design optimisations, they allow manufacturers like ASUS to pack a punch in a slim body.
That said, ASUS being ASUS will be releasing a few variants of the device based on the market and price point. It looks like Malaysia is in for a treat with the ROG Zephyrus coming with the Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor clocked at 2.8GHz. It will use the Mobile Intel HM175 Express Chipset and will be packing the NVIDIA GTX1080 graphics processor with G-Sync technology and will be running on 24GB RAM. It will have a 1TB PCI-EG M.2 solid state drive.
In the display department, it looks like the Zephyrus for Malaysia will only be coming with a 15.6-inch, 1080p Full HD IPS screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The display will feature anti-glare technology and will be able to go up to 300 nits maximum brightness.
Being a gaming laptop it comes as no surprise that the Zephyrus has a whole plethora of ports for you to get the most out of it. It will have four USB 3.0 ports, a headphone out and Audio-in combo jack, one HDMI port and one Thunderbolt port. Gamers also need the great internet connection, the Zephyrus comes with 802.11ac connectivity and also Bluetooth 4.1.
The powerhouse will be powered by a 4 cell Lithium ion battery rated at 50WHr. In addition to the power, the Zephyrus will also be one of the more flashy laptops out there with ASUS’ AuraSync RGB keyboard. In addition to the laptop and essential accessories, it will come with a Gaming mouse, a USB 3.0 to RJ45 cable, a Palmrest and screw driver.
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus is expected to hit the market in September 2017 and will retail for about MYR15,000-18,000 (USD$3,506-4,207). We’ll keep you updated with more details as we get it.
