With the software initiative, Project Volta being included this time around with the Android 5.0 Lollipop roll outs, battery life is to last even longer . However, this doesn’t seem to be the case as a handful of Nexus 5 owners have actually remarked that the latest Lollipop developer preview is giving their devices the total opposite.
The bug was reported on Google’s Android bug tracker forum and was quick to get a response from Google developer Trevor Johns. Johns commented that Google is aware of the issue of high battery drain for the Nexus 5 running Lollipop while connected to Wi-Fi and that it seems to be caused by unusually high number of IRQ wakeup events.
Johns did however, announce that a fix has been included in the latest builds for Android 5.0. Once Nexus 5 gets the official roll out for Android Lollipop, the battery drain problem should be history.
