Looks like LG is stepping into the System of Chip (SoC) arena. Known solely as the Odin chip, there is not much information to go about. We know that LG is working on a project called the Odin project but we have yet to see an Odin powered LG smartphone. The one thing we did know was that the company was working on hard on using the SoC in a phone called Liger.
Now, we have some solid news to share with you guys. It looks like Liger powered by Odin (what a weird name combo) will see its launch soon. As soon as this week, to be exact. Liger is supposed to be the new G3 series model by LG but we’re thinking that LG is looking to try out Odin in a mid range device instead of jumping into a flagship. At least the company can see how the SoC fairs and fix any bugs.
We’re still unsure about exact launch details or any of the sale information i.e. is it going to be limited to South Korean or see international sales? When we do know however, you will be the first we tell.
What do you think about LG’s SoC fairing against the lights of competition like Qualcomm? Let us know in the comment section below. Do you think the names are weird? It sounds like some sort of a Marvel movie to me.
