We thought flip phones were long gone with a few companies trying to keep it alive along side Apple’s flat sleek body of phones. LG has announced another flip smartphone – the Ice Cream Smart.
The device sports a 3.50-inch HVGA (320 x 480 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. This is mated to 1 GB worth of RAM and 8 GB worth of internal memory expandable via MicroSD. It has a 8 megapixel camera on its back and is powered by a 1700 mAh battery. Out of the box, the Ice Cream Smart runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and supports LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi.
The flip phone looks more of less the same as to the previous flip smartphone LG launched – the Wine Smart.
The LG Wine Smart is designed for mid range market and caters especially to the older generation. The phone sports a 3.5 inch LCD with a resolution of 480×320. It runs on 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU mated with 1 GB worth of RAM and 4 GB internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card. It in addition, is equipped with an 8 megapixel back camera and a VGA front shooter. Powering it is a 1700 mAh removable battery. Especially for the older market, you have features such as “Safe Keeper” which automatically send out an emergency notification with necessary information such as the Wine Smart’s location.
Just like its predecessor, the features of Ice Cream Smart is made especially for those who use KaKaoTalk. There are two variants – you can either get the smartphone in either mint or pink. It should be about USD$227 (MYR826).
