It looks like the Moto 360 has found its rival! Well, sort of. The LG G Watch R will be one of the very few round faced Android Wear device that hits the market. The G Watch R might be even coming much sooner than we expected – we’re talking about less than a week a way – October 14th to be exact.
However, we got our hands on even juicier news. It seems that LG doesn’t want to wait. Sales have already started in certain area. Online sales have opened in South Korean for one exclusive retailer. Other areas are going to have to wait till October 14th though.
The G Watch R is however, a little bit more expensive that the squared G Watch. It should be priced at about USD$ 300 (MYR 950). I wouldn’t call this a smart move though based on the fact that the Moto 360 is about USD$ 50 cheaper. LG would be looking to Motorola as its main rival in this area so I would have expected the company to at least price the G Watch R somewhere along the price of the Moto 360 or maybe a little cheaper.
Nevertheless, it seems LG isn’t set on much. The price has not be set in stone nor has any plans about international sales regarding the device. We’re hoping some news gets released so we can confirm at least dates and pricing. But till then, do let us know in the comment section below which Android Wear smartwatch do you prefer – the Moto 360 or the LG G Watch R?
